Picture Frame Mounts |
| One important function of a picture frame mounts is to protect the picture once it is place in the picture frame |
| by keeping it out of harms way, away from the glass of the picture frame. |
| Temparature and humidity levels change on a daily basis, an air gap between the picture and the glass helps |
| prevent moisture building up and forming condensation on the inside of the glass. This can be miniscule droplets |
| unseen by the naked eye. |
| If the picture is in contact with the glass, then after many cycles of condensation forming and drying out over |
| the space of a few years, the picture can eventually become stuck firmly to the glass. |
| The result can be permanent damage and even total destruction of the picture, especially if you did not notice |
| that the picture was stuck to the glass in the first place, when you try to remove it from the picture frame. |
This can be totally avoided when you use picture frame mounts |
Picture Frame Mounts also prevent acids that may leech out of some types of |
wooden picture frames from coming into direct contact with the artwork, thus helping to preserve |
it in its original condition thanks to picture frame mounts |
